Just because we ignore things doesn't mean they're just going to go away. We ignore racism, is that going away? Nope. Slowly maybe, but not a lot. We ignore hateful comments towards our looks, does that go away? Usually not. I'm sick of being told what I should and shouldn't be like. I'm me, that's all I can ever be no matter what you think of it. I won't change myself to suit others moods or 'requirements' because I like the way I am. Personality is what makes someone beautiful, not their looks. When you befriend someone, is it for their looks or their personality? I know that I don't judge on looks. Sure, in the past I would agree with friends about how other people were ugly, and I would point out flaws in others. But I realized something important, everyone has flaws, it's what makes us ourselves, it's what makes us unique. And for some strange reason I know, I wouldn't have it any other way. So when someone comes up to me and points out my flaws, I smile and say 'Thank-you for pointing out what makes me myself' and walk away happy knowing someone actually took the time to even bother looking at my habits, what I act like, and simply what makes me unique. =]
